Lil’ Basement found fame and glory all the way back in 2013, when SoundCloud was just beginning to emerge as a serious streaming platform. His talents were immediately recognized by Show Pony Records founder and CEO Ca$h Money Murphy, who signed Basement for a record breaking 30 million dollar  record deal. After three successful albums and tours, he was set to retire after the release of his fourth album, “Alkaselzer” which was to be his most anticipated release to date. Last Saturday, as Basement was celebrating the release of his final project, the party was ambushed by a team of hit men presumably hired by rival record company CEO, Jay Shuga, of Boom Tap Records. The planned attack began when a Boom Tap plant pretending to be a prospective signee to Show Pony Records pulled his gun out on Ca$h Money Murphy and shot his security guard at point blank range. No comment yet on any further casualties, but Loverboy XO, another artist signed to Show Pony, who was recording his new album at the time of the ambush stated to the police, “Shit was whack my guy”. Limited run of 20 signed prints.
